1. Who we are

Stackwax is a mobile application developed and operated by Martin Allais, a self-employed professional based in Barcelona, Spain. You can contact us at hello@stackwax.app.

2. What data we collect

Data you provide directly:

Email address when you create an account
Discogs username if you connect your collection

Data collected automatically:

Audio captured via your microphone, used only for real-time BPM, key detection, and track recognition. Audio is processed immediately and never stored on our servers.
Device identifiers for app functionality
Usage data including tracks added to your library, recognition requests made, and subscription status

3. Why we collect it

To provide and improve the Stackwax service
To manage your account and library
To process subscription payments
To enforce free tier limits such as monthly recognition caps

4. Third party services

Stackwax uses the following third party services, each with their own privacy policies:

Supabase, database and authentication (supabase.com/privacy)
RevenueCat, subscription management (revenuecat.com/privacy)
ACRCloud, music recognition (acrcloud.com/privacy)
AudD, music recognition fallback (audd.io/privacy)
Discogs, record collection data (discogs.com/privacy)
Spotify and Deezer, track metadata (spotify.com/privacy, deezer.com/legal/privacy)

5. Audio data

Stackwax accesses your microphone only when you actively initiate a recognition or BPM detection. Audio is sent to ACRCloud or AudD for identification purposes only. We do not store, sell, or share your audio data.

6. Your rights under GDPR

As a user based in the European Union or elsewhere, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@stackwax.app. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is permanently removed within 30 days.

8. Children

Stackwax is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification.
